OUR WORK

Ramkrishna Jaidayal Dalmia Seva Sansthan” (RJDSS), established in the year 2004, is an initiative by the Dalmia Group targeted at the rural development of Chirawa. RJDSS is currently working with 55000 people across 88 villages with a vision to bring “KHUSHHALI” with Equity, Harmony and Prosperity in Chirawa block of Jhunjhunu District of Shekhawati Region. In the last 15 years the areas of interventions were; drinking water, agriculture and livestock, sustainable use of natural resources, women’s empowerment, youth development and addressing various other social issues.

MISSION

1. Water level in Chidawa is going down gradually. We plan to build tanks in every household to save rain water from the roof tops
2. To reduce the rate of water level going down, we will guide the farmers through technical assistance and integrated farming methods so their income level does not go down
3. To increase the income level of farmers by at least 4 times in the next 5 years through technical inputs and integrated farming methods
4. To make farmers aware of organic farming, its benefits in health as well as income in the long run
5. To encourage the villagers to keep their villages clean, make the villages completely ODF, eliminate use of one time use plastics and stay away from alcohol
6. Women should be empowered through Self Help Groups so they can help increase the family income and thereby receive the respect due to them
7. To bring BPL families into our fold and ensure their inclusion in all our endeavours
8. To increase the forest cover by planting as well as encourage villagers to plant thousands of trees every year

ACHIEVEMENTS

3189 rain water harvesting tanks in 66 villages of Chirawa Panchayat Samiti covering 40,000 beneficiaries. A capacity to harvest more than 50 million litres annually has been created in villages and till date 411 million litres of water has been harvested.

Construction of 76 recharge wells, 3092 soak pits and 5 ponds have significantly sustained the ground water table. A capacity to recharge 201 million litres annually has been created and till date 1200 million litres have been recharged benefiting 30,000 villagers.

Working with 4500 farmers in 8550 hectares area to save 6830 million litres of water annually as well as increase in Income Rs. 816 lacs to these farmers. Before that total extraction of ground water was 17,600 million litres which was reduced to 10,800 million litres. Over the next 5 years.

 

Under total sanitation campaign, RJDSS ensures 100% toilet construction as well as their use. Till date it has constructed 1360 toilets benefiting 9,000 residents and created 32 Open Defecation free Villages, 6 Plastic free villages and 32 totally clean villages.   

 

Under the Conservation of Environment activity more than 2.17 lakh plants have been planted on community land as well as on individual farms. 359 orchards of Kinnow, Nimboo, Muashmi, Beel etc. have been promoted. 

 

Women Empowerment through formation of 47 Self-Help Groups having 584 members in 26 villages. They saved Rs. 24.47 lakhs and have done loaning of Rs. 42 lakhs
